Café de Flore, between renown & fame

One of the most famous and emblematic places of the capital is located in the heart of the 6th arrondissement of Paris, at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint Benoît.

Seat of literary, philosophical, cultural and artistic Paris, where a ballet of thinkers, essayists and artists such as Joris-Karl Huysmans, Guillaume Apollinaire, the Giacometti brothers, Simone Signoret and a certain Pablo Picasso has been performed since 1885. The couple Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir make it their “head office”.

Café de Flore is a place steeped in history. Recognized throughout the world, its fame is now maintained by the famous Prix de Flore. Created in 1994 by Carole Chrétiennot and Frédéric Beigbeder, the Flore Prize rewards young authors, whose talents are judged by a jury of journalists.

From now on, amateur thinkers, essayists in search of inspiration and aspiring artists stop there, alone or with others, for a hot chocolate in the art deco room, a drink on the terrace or for a typical dish from a Parisian brasserie.
